A Little Family Fun!

Our  kids LOVE museums.  This winter we talked about some of their favorite memories.  One that surprised me was going to the museum in Green River last summer.  So we made it a top priority to make it to the museum in Rock Springs this summer.

The museum is housed in the old courthouse built back in the late 1800s.  The building is beautiful, with a grand staircase.  I think it cost $29,000 to build all those years ago.  One of the displays gave the statistics on the Model T.  In 1920 3/4 of the population in Rock Springs had a Model T and their purchase price was around $300.  Wow!  Those really were the good old days! I realize there is inflation and all, but to buy a brand new car today $29,000 is a low price tag!  I can't even fathom the hardship without all of today's modern technology and practices to build a huge, elegant building.  The girls are fascinated by typewriters, and enjoyed quite the collection of several through the ages.  They also really enjoyed the wedding dresses.  Sweetwater County is very diverse and there were nice displays for several different nationalities that settled the area.  The jail portion was stinky and scared Kira, but was hopefully good for them to see home is a lot more comfortable.  We don't want to live in bondage no one or thing, and are only free through our Savior, Jesus Christ.

After the museum we headed to the zip line park.  This is the kids FAVORITE park in Rock Springs.  We had a picnic there with a little Pancho's.  We had a great time.  The kids chased bunnies.  Zip lined to their hearts content.  Filled their tummies, and made new friends.  Then we packed up and went home.  A good time was had by all.
