2015 Christmas Card and Letter

I was so happy to get our Christmas cards and letters done before Thanksgiving this year.  I carefully edited the letter, looking for typos several times.  The first week of December Ben brought me an envelope; that was waiting for an address, that he had opened.  I held up the letter, and Seth, 7 jumped out at me.  Seth is 6, and that wasn't the only typo.  It was kind of funny.  Here is our 2015 Holiday letter, typos and all.

Dear Family and Friends,

Merry Christmas!  We hope this finds you happy and healthy.  We can hardly believe it’s Christmastime.  We must have had too much fun this year, because time has flown!
Gabrielle, 13, is a teenager!  Need I say more?  She loves sleep, makeup, and friends (more than her mom, but her dad is still cool).  Oh, this sweet girl has grown too fast!  She is smart, pretty, and unique.  Everywhere we go adults stop us and tell us how much they love and adore Gaby.  She keeps busy swimming on the middle school swim team, drama (she loved being in her school’s play “Cinderella and the Substitute Fairy Godmother last spring), student government, violin lessons, and the Young Women’s program.  She loves Egyptology, history, science, and good quotes.
Morgan, 11, is the coolest tweenager in all of the land.  We love this girl who has inherited her grandpa’s love of teasing.  She likes to do it all.  Currently she swims on the middle school  swim team (she swims about 3 hours a day; getting up at 5 am to swim an hour before school, and then 2 hours after school), plays JuniorJazz Basketball (and has the best coach ever...her dad), participates in choir, has a part in her school’s Christmas play “Party in the Pear Tree”, and is a pianist. She loves to read, and frequently is caught with her dad’s head lamp on, or with a flashlight under the covers reading into the wee hours of the night.  Mori loves taking things apart; calculators, battery operated toothbrushes, and cell phones are not safe at our house.  She’s a STEM teacher’s dream come true.  We love Mori and appreciate her ready smile, humor, and laughter.  This very energetic girl is smart, likeable, a beauty inside and out, and just a lovely person.
Kira Joy, 9, is turning double digits way too soon.  Why do they have to grow so quickly?  This year she has had braces and a palate expander on. She started taking piano lessons, and is thriving.  She plays Jr Jazz Basketball, and has decided she loves basketball way more than swimming.  This girl is full of determination and willpower.  If she wants something nothing will deter her.  Frequently she practices the piano more than an hour at a time.  She is really impressive to me..  In years past she struggled with reading and writing.  However, through tireless effort she has overcome this challenge.  She feels deeply, and loves strongly.  She’s a doll.  Her big brown eyes, and sweet personality win hearts easily.  I am forever indebted to my Heavenly Father for allowing me to be a mother to these girls; what a blessing they are in my life!
Seth, 7, is all boy.  I thought I understood that boys were different than girls before having sons.  However, I am schooled daily on just how different they really are.  Seth holds my heart in the palm of his hands.  This freckled face boy makes good days better, and bad days bearable.  He is funny, charming, and you should check out his muscles.  He constantly flexes for me (how does this come so naturally to him?). He is energetic, funny, and possesses a personality the size of Texas. He loves to cook, and hates to clean.  He could care less about clean clothes, combed hair, and wearing socks.  He is a natural born leader, and an all around great boy.  I wish you could hear his heartfelt prayers, it’s adorable and touching.
Benjamin, oh Benjamin, is 1. I shudder to see what 2 and 3 bring.  This little bundle of energy is a mess maker, or a complete clean freak...you just don’t know what personality he will display from day to day.  He strongly believes that his siblings should be strictly obedient, and if they don’t he tries enforcing the rules (just ask NahNah who sports a scar on her forhead from him taking a skillet to her when she didn't get out of bed on the first call).  He absolutely adores his dad & big brother, and tolerates his 4 mothers.  He makes me question my sanity on a daily basis.  This boy is a budding politician, and acts like he’s on tour anytime we’re in a public place.  His smile and wave, while screaming HI are his trademark. He is quirky.  He loves having his nose wiped, hair combed, teeth brushed, and loves throwing things away (the higher the value the better...he gets it from his dad).  I love this boy to the moon  and back, don’t know what I’d do without him.
We rejoice in this little family God has gifted us with.  We know the family is of God.  Our Father in Heaven has a plan for each of us, and that plan centers around family.  We know this world was created by the Great Master, thus giving families a place to reside.  We know Eve partook of the fruit deliberately, enabling the human family to grow, and allowing each of us become what He has in mind for His children.  Our Loving Father in Heaven sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to make a way for each of us to be pure and clean and return to His presence.  We rejoice this Christmas season and always in the glorious plan of our Father in Heaven, and are so thankful for the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ!  We wish you the Merriest of Christmases, and it is our hope your homes, hearts, and lives can be penetrated with the light that only our Savior can give!

With Much Love,
The Farnsworth’s

Greg, Amy, Gabrielle, Morgan, Kira, Seth, and Benjamin
