I had said a few prayers asking Heavenly Father to bless us with good weather just in case family wanted to come for Seth's special day. We had several days in the 40s the week before, and had some good melting. My mom and dad came on Thursday and it was in the 50s. Friday it got to 56. It was blissful. We woke up to a blanket of snow on Saturday morning. Barb sent me a text that said, "Pure blanketed white day for a pure beautiful boy and his baptism." Her thoughtful text changed my attitude...it was a perfect day for a baptism day.

Several days before Seth's baptism he started saying, "I just can't wait til my baptism day!" It was a lovely baptism. The bishop had him come up before his baptism. He said, "Seth look at all of these people who love you, and came to support you today. Look at their faces, see they are smiling and happy to be here. They are here because they love you. Is there anyone here special today?" Seth smiled, and said, "My grandma and grandpa!" The bishop made some comment about the rest of us not being as cool as grandma and grandpa. Ben was so excited for Seth. He wanted to be Seth's shadow. I'm grateful for Seth's example to Ben.
As Seth went under he didn't plug his nose. I worried he'd come up coughing and sputtering. A few days later, I said "buddy, when you were baptized you didn't plug your nose. How did you not cough?" He said, "Mom! you just blow bubbles!" It tickled me, because he acted like he had been baptized a million times.
After wards we had a nice luncheon. Seth originally wanted to have hamburgers, but changed his mind to cheesy bacon potato soup. I also made chicken enchilada soup (it was a hit), chicken noodle soup, and rolls. We had sugar cookies, brownies, cupcakes, and a veggie tray. All in all it was a merry day.
Seth was spoiled rotten by our loved ones. He loved the mail he got. Immediately he attached his missionary tag to his suit, his tie tack to his tie, he colored his pillow case, stashed his money away, and stowed the cards in a safe place. He loved the calls and facetiming. We appreciated all of the love he received!
I'm grateful Seth chose to be baptized and follow in our Savior's footsteps. I hope he will walk in paths of righteousness all the days of his life. I'm so glad to have Seth in my life. His happy, cheerful ways bring sunshine to my heart. I appreciate his goodness, and desire to choose the right.
